Julian Joslin is a New York-based writer, director, and editor.

His latest short film, No Longer Suitable for Use, had its world premiere at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and was acquired by The New Yorker / Condé Nast.

The film was executive produced by Academy Award-winner Sam Rockwell and stars Laith Nakli (A24/Hulu’s RAMY). The story was informed by Joslin’s eight years working for federal public defenders in New York City, during which time he assisted with the defense of eleven alleged terrorists, including Bin Laden lieutenant Khalid Al-Fawwaz, international arms dealer Viktor Bout, the Newburgh Four, and AQAP member Minh Quang Pham.

Joslin is currently the lead editor of W Magazine’s Screen Tests with Lynn Hirschberg and has edited three recent episodes of the magazine’s Life In Parties series.

Joslin has consulted on the Shonda Rhimes legal drama For The People and the HBO documentary The Newburgh Sting. His comedy shorts (including The Ira Glass Sex Tape) have been featured on the homepages of Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, Funny Or Die, and Vulture. As a creative executive for former Focus Features President of Production John Lyons, Joslin worked on the productions of the Academy Award-nominated All The Beauty And The Bloodshed, HBO’s The Young Pope, and Netflix’s The Pentaverate.
